Sergey Novikov is the president of the Federation International Amateur Unifight (FIAU). He also serves as president of the all-Russian public organization the Russian Fight Sports Federation and the president of the children's Martial Arts club.

On the sport "Unifight"

In the last 10-20 years in the development of martial arts there fundamentally new trend - the emergence of new species based on the integration and aggregation from other sports. For example, in the middle of 90-ies of XX century in Russia appeared Unifight (Unifight) - a comprehensive view including the consistent application of exercises on an obstacle course, shooting airguns, sporting knives and hand-to-hand fight in the ring. This sport, originally emerged as a military application, has become quite popular not only in the power structures of various countries, but in the world. The members of the International Amateur Federation Unifight are 30countries, held 10 World Championships, which were attended by athletes from 35 countries worldwide.

Since 2008, every year regularly conducted nationwide and international competitions on "Unifight" among children 10-11 and 12-13 years old (light- unifight). It allows you to reach regular training and competitions are a significant part of children, adolescents and youth, introduce them to healthy lifestyles, improve their active recreation, to distract from the outdoor elements.

Also annually, the championships of Russia, Europe and World among boys and girls 14-15, 16-17 years (according to light - and the classic Unifight), Championship of Russia, Europe and the World Juniors and Juniors 18-20 years (according to the rules Light - Unifight and classic Unifight), European, Asian and World Championships among men and women (according to light - and classic Unifight).

At the initiative of the International Coordinating Council of the Dynamo organizations and the Russian Federation "Unifight" is currently being studied include the idea of "Unifight" in the program of competitions among the Dynamo organizations. On the 2-5th of November this year in Minsk the first international tournament "Unifight" for the prizes of the International Coordinating Council of the Dynamo organization was held where the sportsmen from 10 countries took part.

Forecast shows that the trend of the "Unifight" will be further intensified, including in the direction of complexing with winter sports. As it may seem paradoxical, but the creation of the complex: winter sport + combat has a very good chance of the existence and development.

Winter Olympic Games (in contrast to the summer games) are in deficit of new sports that could be potentially included in their program.

Thus, if the last 20 years in the program of Summer Games included 10 new species of sport and raises the question of reducing the program or the rotation of various kinds. And in the Winter Olympics program appeared only 4 new species (!) - freestyle, short track, curling and snowboarding. It is noteworthy that none of the existing winter sports is not even the elements of martial arts.

The emergence of a fundamentally new combinations: winter sport + duel will be a remarkable event in the world of sports. And with good promotions and sound development program, it can quickly gain a good position in the world and in the future, such as 2014, go to the cultural program of the Sochi Olympics, as a model and then as a major sport.

In February 2011 in Kazakhstan, in the frames of the cultural program of the 7th Asian Games the International tournament of Winter Unifight was held , where the sportsmen from 4 countries participated.

The 2nd Winter Unifight World Championship which was held on 21-23 February in the region of Nizhny Novgorod region, which brought together athletes from 26 countries.
